CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS
SIDE EVENT
OVERVIEW
Championship Point Side Events give Trainers across all three game formats – the Trading Card Game, Video Game, and Pokémon GO – additional chances to compete in officially sanctioned tournaments that award Championship Points (CP). These points contribute to a player’s progress toward qualifying for the prestigious Pokémon World Championships.
It’s a great opportunity to test your skills, meet fellow competitors, and climb the ranks of competitive play – all while having fun and showcasing your favourite Pokémon strategies.

CHAMPIONSHIP POINT EVENTS:
CHALLENGES & CUPS
Challenge Side Events and Cup Side Events are both Championship Point tournaments available across the weekend. While they share similar structures, Cups are typically larger and award more Championship Points and prizes to top finishers than Challenges do.
Both events follow the official rulesets for their respective game formats and offer excellent opportunities for Trainers to compete, improve their skills, and earn Championship Points toward Pokémon World Championships qualification.
All Trainers will earn a Booster Pack and Prize Points for participating, with additional Prize Points awarded to those who come out on top.
TCG STANDARD
For both Challenge and Cup events, Trainers will compete in the current TCG Standard format, bringing their own 60-card Standard-legal decks to battle through a series of Best-of-One Swiss rounds, followed by a Top Cut for the highest-ranking players.

VG CURRENT REGULATION
For both Challenge and Cup events, Trainers will compete under the current VG Regulation Set, bringing their own teams to battle in Double Battles across a series of Best-of-One Swiss rounds, followed by a Top Cut for the highest-ranking players.
