What are Professors?
Pokémon Professors are trusted volunteers who help ensure Regional Championships run smoothly. Their responsibilities include enforcing rules, organising logistics, assisting players, and maintaining fair and accurate event operations.
Professors are held to high standards and embody core values such as Integrity, Honesty, Responsibility, and Professionalism. They earn certifications and ranks based on experience and enjoy perks like exclusive rewards, special tournaments, and membership in a supportive community.
By combining expertise, fairness, and a dedication to the Pokémon community, Professors play a central role in making events both enjoyable and well-run.

Experience at Events
Pokémon Professors play a vital role in making Regional Championships run smoothly and keeping the weekend fun for everyone. Over the course of the event, Professors:
- Welcome players at check-in and help them get settled
- Guide players to their seats and keep rounds running on time
- Answer questions about rules, cards, or directions with a friendly smile
- Make fair rulings to ensure an even playing field
- Record match results and start the next round promptly
- Run Side Events so there’s always something exciting to join
- Support families and new players, explaining how everything works
- Maintain a fun, safe, and welcoming atmosphere for the entire community
Being a Professor is a rewarding experience that combines leadership, expertise, and community support, letting volunteers make a real impact while enjoying the excitement of the Pokémon Championship weekend.
How to Get Involved
If you’re passionate about Pokémon and want to help make events fun and fair for everyone, becoming a Pokémon Professor is a great way to get involved. Professors are trusted volunteers who help run tournaments, support players, and uphold the core values of Integrity, Honesty, Responsibility, and Professionalism.
To get started, you’ll need to apply through the Professor Program website. This includes creating a Trainer Club account, passing a background check, and choosing a certification such as Organizer or Judge.
- Start local – Volunteer at your nearby game store, help with Leagues and small tournaments.
- Grow your knowledge – Learn the rules inside and out, and practice answering player questions with confidence.
- Gain experience – Support your community and develop your skills as a Judge or Organizer.
- Level up – Take what you’ve learned to larger events like Regional Championships!
After gaining experience at local events, Professors can take the next step by applying to volunteer at larger tournaments like Regional Championships. These major events rely on dedicated Professors to serve as Judges and Support Staff, offering a rewarding chance to contribute, grow, and be part of the excitement on a bigger stage.
